Best Tasting Walnut Pumpkin Pie PYD Chefs

Ingredients you'll need:

  • 1 prepared pie shell or graham cracker pie crust
  • 2 cups pureed pumpkin
  • 1 can condensed milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp. flour
  • 2 tbsp. butter
  • 3/4 cup chopped walnuts

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 425 F.

  • In a bowl combine pureed pumpkin, condensed milk,
  • Add egg, ginger, salt, nutmeg and 3/4 tsp of cinnamon,
  • Mix thoroughly.
  • Pour mixture into pie crust.
  • Bake at 425 F for 15 minutes
  • Then lower oven temperature to 350 F.

In a small bowl mix together well

  • Brown sugar, flour, leftover cinnamon 
  • Cut in butter. 
  • Add walnuts
  • Sprinkle mixture over the top of the pie
  • Bake it for another 40 minutes at 350 F.

Remove the pie. Let it cool for about 15 minutes

Tip:

Serve with vanilla ice cream or a topping of fresh whipped cream
